By using englishcert.org or the English Cert app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Using the service

• You must provide accurate account information.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
• You must be legally able to enter into these Terms.

Exam rules

• You must take the exam alone, without help from other people, apps, or devices.
• Your camera and microphone must stay on during the exam.
• You must not leave the exam screen or open other tabs or apps.
• You must use a valid photo ID that matches your account.

Identity verification and proctoring

To protect exam integrity, we verify your identity and monitor the exam. If we cannot confirm your identity or we detect cheating, we may stop the exam or cancel the result.

Results and certificates

Results are based on our assessment and are reported on the CEFR scale, including + sub-levels. Certificates include a CVN for verification. We may correct or withdraw a certificate if an error or integrity issue is found.

Institutions

Universities, schools, and companies may use the portal to create and manage learner accounts. Institutions are responsible for using learner data lawfully and only for legitimate assessment purposes.

Fees

Any fees for the exam are shown in the app before you pay. Fees, where applicable, are described at the point of purchase.

Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to cheat, copy, or disrupt the exam.
• Do not misuse the service or attempt to access it in unauthorised ways.
• Do not share your account or certificate as if it were another person's.

Intellectual property

The exam content, app, and website are owned by English Cert or its licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, or that a certificate will be accepted by any particular institution.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, English Cert is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.

We may update these Terms. The latest version is always on this page.
